Serengeti National Park

Serengeti National Park is a second largest Tanzania National park covers the area of 14,750 km2. The park hosts the second largest terrestrial mammal migration in the world, which helps secure it as one of the Seven Natural Wonders of Africa, and as one of the ten natural travel wonders of the world.

Serengeti national park is the most popular and well known safari destination in Africa because of the diversity of the wildlife. The park is also famous for its annual migration of over 1.5 million wildebeests around the Serengeti-Maasai Mara ecosystem. The wildebeest migration is rated as one of the world’s most spectacular natural events. This migration attracts thousands of Tourists who come from around the world to witness one of Africa’s most dazzling cycle of life.

The Serengeti offers good wildlife viewing throughout the year. Approximately 70 large mammals and 500 bird species are found in Serengeti National park. June and July are the best months for seeing the migration and February is the best month for the wildebeest calving. The dry months from June to October offer the best general game viewing.
