Kijereshi Game Reserve was established in 1994 in Busega District in Simiyu Region, south of Serengeti National Park. It covers an area of 66 km².
Being a migratory route for wildlife species, the reserve, which is within the Serengeti ecosystem, turns into a refuge for wildlife in the dry season and at the same time acts as a buffer zone for Serengeti National Park.
The reserve has plenty and varied wildlife that includes Lion, buffalo, elephant, impala, wildebeest, jackal, zebra, ostrich, hyena, warthog and roan antelope.
Tourism activities that can be offered include hunting tourism, game drive, Bird watching, night game drive, guided walking safari, picnicking, camping and photographing.
